Synopsis: Christmas Eve in Johannesburg. A classic white Valiant cruises the deserted streets of the vast metropolis. Inside the car, Sugar Man, a pimp with principles, shepherds his flock of working girls from client to client. The three women are foreigners - “nobody was born in Joburg” - come to the anonymous city to get their share of the pie.
As the film unfolds we find out who these tough women are, why they’re working on Christmas Eve, and what Sugar Man’s niche market is.
The trade in sex wreaks emotional havoc on all players, and Sugar Man must face his deepest fears.
The gritty resolution of this contemporary urban Christmas Story is feel good cinema for the urban realist. (from official site)
