Notes: Earned her undergrad degree at Columbia University. Earned her MFA at Cal Arts.

Before turning to filmmaking was a private chef for Malcolm Forbes, Calvin Klein and Gloria Vanderbilt.

Won a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship and a Guggenheim Fellowship.

While living and making films in the Ukraine in 2008, she also toured the country in a van with a projector to set up impromptu local screenings in bars, basements and other out-of-the-way places.
